Message from the President

January 25, 2010

Dear Fellow Cabin Owners:

Often overlooked in the aftermath of the Highway 410 landslide last October that threatened to cut off access to our cabins, along with the homes and businesses up and down the pass, was the rapid cooperation of county, state and federal agencies that came together to prevent a bad situation from becoming worse. I tried unsuccessfully to get reporters to focus on this amazing display of cooperation but none seemed interested. Fortunately, State Senator Curtis King took up the cause and wrote the guest editorial for the Yakima Herald Republic. His recognition of these agencies is long overdue and their efforts serve as a reminder to all of us what can be accomplished if we are willing to work together. If you encounter employees of the various agencies involved in this remarkable accomplishment tell them thanks for all they did. They deserve it.
