Message from the President

Mike Berriochoa

December 28, 2009

Dear Fellow Cabin Owners:

I want to thank everyone who has sent me such kind messages appreciating the information that I and other board members have been providing with regard to cabin fees, break-ins, etc. It’s the first time that I can recall receiving any solid feedback from members and we on the board appreciate it.

In the closing weeks of 2009 I want to update you on two actions taken by your executive board. First, we approved spending about $25.00 to purchase a cake that was delivered to the maintenance shop of Pacific Power in Yakima. Those guys work hard to keep the power on to many of our cabins and we wanted to express our appreciation. Former CPCOA secretary Reva Bunnell took care of making it happen and we thank her.

Second, we authorized a contribution of $300.00 to the C2 fund to help finance the continued fight over cabin fees. Cabin owners have made great progress in congress on this issue but we need to keep up the effort if we are going to prevail. Hope springs eternal for a resolution to this issue in 2010.

I extend my best wishes to all of you for a safe and happy new year. My wife and I have a sign in our cabin which reads “If you’re lucky enough to live in the mountains, you’re lucky enough.” Even though we don’t live there as much as we would like, we certainly are lucky enough to have a cabin where we can spend as much time as our schedules permit. We are also lucky enough to be part of a wonderful group of cabin owners who share a common love for the forest and all of nature’s bounty.

Have a wonderful holiday and I will look forward to seeing you all at our picnic in the summer.
