Message from the President
Mike Berriochoa
July 2008
Dear CPCOA members:
It is time for all cabin owners on Forest Service land to take swift action or risk losing our cabins due to the upcoming new lease fees that will be imposed on us by the Forest Service.
The Cabin User Fair Fee Act (CUFFA) was intended to protect us from unreasonable charges. Instead it is being used against us and there are many among us who won’t be able to afford the new lease fees. Further, appraisals have been applied inconsistently from one forest to another. Some of our assessments are going up 35% while others are going up 300% and more.
The Chinook Pass Cabin Owners Association urges you to write strong letters to your congressional delegation to block the Forest Service from imposing these outrageous fees.
To make it easier for you, the following sample letters have been made available in Microsft Word and Adobe PDF formats.
Sample CUFFA Letter #1: Word PDF
Sample CUFFA Letter #2: Word PDF
Sample CUFFA Letter #3: Word PDF
Please download the letters, modify them with information specific to your cabin, insert the name and address of your congressional delegates and get them into the mail as quickly as possible.
Cordially,
Mike Berriochoa, President
Chinook Pass Cabin Owners Association
